A63 sections to be closed for necessary maintenance

National Highways has confirmed that sections of the A63 in Hull city centre will be closed over the coming weekend for vital maintenance work. The closures will affect the stretch between Roger Millward Way and Daltry Street in both directions.

The road will shut from 8:00 PM on Friday, 5 December until 6:00 AM on Saturday, at which point the eastbound side will reopen. The westbound side will remain closed until 6:00 AM on Monday, 8 December.

Authorities emphasized that the closures are necessary to carry out important roadworks and complex drainage tasks that cannot be completed in a single overnight shift. They also noted that, due to events in the city centre, travelers should allow additional time for their journeys.

This work forms part of the ongoing A63 Castle Street Scheme, which began in 2020 and involves constructing a new junction. The project is scheduled for completion in spring 2026.
