On December 3, Amazon.com revealed plans to launch a dedicated news tab on its Prime Video platform. The feature will be accessible to all U.S. users at no extra cost by the end of the year.
This new section will feature live content from major news outlets including ABC News Live, CBS News 24/7, LiveNOW from Fox, CNN Headlines, and NBC News NOW. It aims to provide coverage across a wide range of topics, from international events to national and local updates.
The move is designed to make live news more easily reachable for subscribers and to attract a larger audience as Amazon faces intensified competition in the streaming sector.
Additionally, Amazon announced the launch of a subscription channel offering a collection of Sony Pictures movies and series. The Sony Pictures Core channel is available for $6.99 per month to Prime Video users in the U.S. and Canada.
