Jaxson Dart and Giants Face Double Trouble in Defeat to Patriots

The New York Giants faced a tough night on Monday as rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart returned from injury, but the team still fell short against the New England Patriots.

Dart, sidelined for the previous two games due to a concussion, played without further injury, finishing with 17 completions on 24 attempts for 139 yards, one touchdown, and no interceptions. He also added 20 rushing yards on four carries. Despite his solid stats, the Giants were defeated 33-15 by a Patriots team that has now won 10 consecutive games.

Dart had initially entered the NFL concussion protocol following a head injury sustained in Week 10 against the Chicago Bears. His return on Monday did not translate into a much-needed victory, marking the Giants seventh game without a win.

Adding to New Yorks troubles, the team lost two key players to injury during the matchup. Return specialist Gunner Olszewski exited in the second quarter after a severe helmet-to-helmet collision on a kickoff, which caused a fumble. The team later confirmed that Olszewski suffered a concussion and would not return for the remainder of the game.

Later, in the fourth quarter, running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. left the field after sustaining a hip injury following a hard tackle by multiple Patriots defenders. Tracy struggled to bear weight on his left leg and was eventually taken off on a cart. He was listed as questionable to return but did not reenter the game.

These injuries mean that Dart may be missing two of his offensive weapons in the Giants next game. Fortunately, New York has a bye in Week 14 before resuming action on December 14 against the Washington Commanders.
