If youre new to the New York Times Strands puzzle or have been playing for a while, a few hints can make all the difference. Heres a guide for todays puzzle #641, including clues and the full solution. Consulting hints isnt considered cheating the challenge is part of the fun!
Todays Strands puzzle features six hidden words, not counting the spangram. For newcomers, NYT Strands is a word search-like game presented on a grid, six letters across and eight down. The goal is to uncover around seven hidden words. Letters can connect horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, creating some unusual shapes. Every letter in the grid is used, and players must find all the hidden words plus the spangram, which ties the puzzle together.
For example, one previous puzzle had the theme Thats so sweet! with the spangram sugary, and each hidden word was a type of sugar. If you get stuck, Strands provides in-game hints. Finding a four-letter word not part of the solution earns progress toward a hint. Every three words discovered unlocks a Hint icon at the bottom left of the screen, highlighting the next answers letters. Additional hints will guide you letter by letter, though using hints affects your final score.
Strands can only be played once daily, similar to Wordle and Connections, with the timer resetting at midnight.
Todays Theme: In the Drivers Seat
The theme for puzzle #641 centers on being in the drivers seat. Related concepts include decisive, authoritative, and domineering. To find hidden words, consider other four-letter words in the grid, which help unlock hints. Examples include: COLD, SOLD, LIKE, CASE, CABS, LITE, CONS, DOSE, CURE.
The spangram for today has 9 letters. The hidden words in the puzzle are:
- BOLD
- CONFIDENT
- ASSURED
- SECURE
- COOL
- ASSERTIVE
Todays spangram is LIKEABOSS. It begins with the "L" in the first row and snakes down to the two "S" letters in the fourth row.
Finding objects related to the drivers seat can be tricky, but recognizing the theme makes locating the words easier. How quickly did you spot all the hidden words?
