XAI employees praise colleague who worked 36 hours without sleep: 'Bro is a rare gem'

An XAI staff member, Parsa Tajik, recently shared that he worked for roughly thirty six hours without rest. His post quickly drew enthusiastic reactions from coworkers, who highlighted the intense pace typical of Elon Musks companies, including XAI and Tesla.

Tajik posted a photo of himself inside his Cybertruck, noting that although he felt exhausted, he also felt highly energized and grateful to be part of the team. His message prompted supportive comments from fellow employees, with some joking about the amount of work completed and calling him exceptionally dedicated.

Another colleague, Ayush Jaiswal, reshared the post with a humorous remark, suggesting that strong work life balance was something they recommended mostly to their competitors. Musk reacted to the repost with a laughing emoji.

The company has moved rapidly in recent months. Despite earlier assurances that no additional layoffs were planned, more than one hundred positions were cut this fall. At the same time, XAI has accelerated its development efforts, releasing Grok 1 in late 2023 after only a few months of work. The firm, established shortly after the debut of ChatGPT, reached a valuation of one hundred thirteen billion dollars by July according to PitchBook.

Extended work hours are not new within Musks businesses. He has spoken openly about sleeping on the factory floor during Teslas Model 3 production challenges, and staff at his companies have described similar overnight efforts.

Tajiks post, which has received significant attention online, also raised safety questions from some users who were concerned about him driving while fatigued. In a later reply, he stated that he traveled safely in a Tesla using FSD with two colleagues. He added that long hours have been a part of his life for years and credited this effort with helping him reach his position at XAI after experiencing hardship in 2020. According to him, achieving exceptional results requires exceptional commitment.
