Boots Riley's 'Boosters are my love' to kick off South by Southwest festival

South by Southwest officials revealed that I Love Boosters, featuring Keke Palmer and Demi Moore, will serve as the opening film of the festival in March. The premiere on SXSWs opening night will also mark the global debut of director Boots Riley's latest project.

The film follows a group of expert shoplifters known as The Velvet Gang as they target a ruthless fashion tycoon, creating a story described as mind-bending.

The cast also includes Naomi Ackie, Taylour Paige, Poppy Liu, Eiza Gonzalez, LaKeith Stanfield, and Don Cheadle. This marks Rileys third film featured at SXSW, following Sorry to Bother You in 2018 and the world premiere of I'm a Virgo in 2023.

The world premiere of I Love Boosters is scheduled for March 12, kicking off SXSW, which will run until March 18 in Austin, Texas.
