CBS renews 'Boston Blue' and 'Fire Country' for second seasons

On December 4, CBS confirmed that both of its hit drama series, Boston Blue and Fire Country, have been renewed for second seasons. Amy Reisenbach, the president of CBS Entertainment, shared a statement highlighting the success of these new shows: "Both of our Friday night premieres have quickly become audience favorites, with viewers embracing Boston Blue and Fire Country across both broadcast and streaming platforms," Reisenbach said. "These early renewals are a testament to the strength of character-driven storytelling, engaging plotlines, and the remarkable talent behind and in front of the camera that have made these shows stand out."

Boston Blue is a spin-off of the popular series Blue Bloods, featuring Donnie Wahlberg and Sonequa Martin-Green. Meanwhile, Fire Country stars Morena Baccarin as a small-town sheriff in California. The cast of Fire Country includes Matt Lauria, W. Earl Brown, Christopher Gorham, and Michele Weaver, who round out the talented ensemble.
