Dave Coulier is embracing his new role as a grandfather with immense joy. The former Full House star, 66, spoke about his experience during an interview on Today, following the birth of his grandson, Chance, born to his son Luc, 33, and Lucs wife Alex on March 27.
Coulier shared that he never expected to feel such a deep affection for another little boy after raising his own son, but meeting Chance changed that. "I never imagined Id fall in love with another child like my own son, but this little boy Chance came into our lives, and hes incredibly happy," he said. "He falls asleep laughing and enjoys playing in his crib."
He added, "I told my son and daughter-in-law, You are so lucky. You have no idea how wonderful this kid is."
Earlier, Coulier revealed his excitement about becoming a grandfather in an April interview with Parade. "Were thrilled," he said. "Since my son and his wife live in California, well be visiting often to spend time with him."
The actor is also preparing his Detroit-area home for Chances visits. "Theres a lot to do. I built this house myself after attending contractor schoolit took 17 months. Im looking forward to working outside, planting trees, and making the home beautiful for our grandson," Coulier explained.
Reflecting on family and hobbies, Coulier said he looks forward to sharing his passions with Chance, such as hockey and aviation. "My son Luc plays hockey regularly, and I used to take him flying as a baby. Now hes a FedEx pilot, and I cant wait to introduce Chance to these interests," he said.
