Gatorade brings back fan favorite after nearly 30 years

This Thanksgiving brought an extra treat for fans of both pop culture and classic beverages. Alongside the 99th Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade, festive feasts, and family gatherings, audiences were also treated to the return of Netflixs hit series Stranger Things for its fifth and final season. Released in three segments, the season will conclude on December 31.

As excitement builds around the shows return, brands have been rolling out themed products. Leading the charge, Gatorade is launching a Stranger Things-inspired edition of one of its classic drinks. Dont worryno spoilers from season five here.

Even before the first episodes of season five premiered, Gatorade revealed a collaboration with the series to bring back a much-loved flavor from the 1980s, the era in which Stranger Things is set. Citrus Cooler is making its official comeback in six limited-edition collectible bottles. Seeing the characters enjoy Gatorade from vintage glass bottles sparked nostalgia for fans of the discontinued classic.

Gatorade Glass Bottles Make a Comeback

For the first time since the 1990s, Gatorades iconic glass bottles are returning. In a continuation of its partnership with Stranger Things, Gatorade is launching a limited series called the 1987 Hawkins Capsule. The collection features a retro Lemon-Lime glass bottle adorned with an Upside Down-themed logo, along with a vintage Gatorade t-shirt and a Sideline Towel, all presented in a collectors box.

The Gatorade x Stranger Things 1987 Hawkins Capsule will be available on Gatorades website starting December 4 at 10 a.m. ET for $70, while supplies last. For those who miss this initial release, a second opportunity will come with the limited-edition Upside Down Capsule, dropping on December 30 at 11 a.m. ET, just ahead of the series finale.
