Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel suggested that President Donald Trump might need a break from social media after an unusually intense night on Truth Social. On the December 2 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the comedian highlighted Trump's posting marathon, during which the former president shared over 150 posts in a single evening.
According to Axios, Trump made 158 posts between 9 p.m. and midnight on December 1. Kimmel commented, "For real, last night he went completely off the rails," referring to the massive volume of messages from "the man who's allegedly running the country."
To illustrate Trump's social media activity, Kimmel displayed the posts on-screen behind him. He quipped about the sheer time required to send so many messages, jokingly asking what First Lady Melania Trump might have been doing during the five-hour posting spree.
Trumps posts ranged from political attacks to a clip from his 1992 cameo in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, which Kimmel humorously suggested marked the last time Trump was genuinely happy.
Other late-night hosts also weighed in. Jimmy Fallon joked about the origins of Venezuelan cocaine, while Stephen Colbert humorously claimed Trump appeared to be dozing off during a cabinet meeting.
Kimmel further mocked the presidents marathon of posts by exaggerating the physical toll on his thumbs, calling the effort akin to reporting MRI results without actually sharing any results. Clips from Trumps cabinet meeting were also ridiculed, highlighting moments when his eyes appeared closed, suggesting he was simply being showered with praise.
In addition to Kimmel, Jon Stewart, Jimmy Fallon, and Seth Meyers have previously criticized Trump, often resulting in a back-and-forth on social media. Kimmel, a consistent critic, frequently draws attention to the former president's online activity and public appearances, blending humor with pointed commentary on his behavior.
