Megadeth Reveals Worldwide ‘Behind The Mask’ Movie Event Before Last Album Release

Fans should clear their schedules, as Megadeth is set to take over cinemas globally with a special event timed just before the release of their last studio album. The cinematic experience, MEGADETH: BEHIND THE MASK, will premiere in over 1,000 theaters across more than 35 countries on January 22, 2026, offering an in-depth look at the bands history alongside an exclusive first listen of their forthcoming self-titled album, which releases the following day.

Tickets will become available on Thursday, December 11, coinciding with the release of the event trailer. Fans can register for updates at megadethfilm.com.

The film will take audiences through four decades of Megadeths career, with Dave Mustaine sharing untold stories, insights into the bands impact, and a detailed breakdown of every track on the final album. The production blends archival footage, new interviews, and a complete playthrough of the record, giving fans an intimate studio-floor experience with Mustaine as their guide.

Leading up to the album release, the current lineupDave Mustaine, Teemu Mntysaari, James LoMenzo, and Dirk Verbeurenhas released two new tracks, I Dont Care and Tipping Point, along with a bonus track: a reimagined version of Ride The Lightning, co-written by Mustaine with Metallica in 1984.
