One Key Hint Reveals the True Filming Date of Meghan Markle's Holiday Special

Meghan Markles latest Netflix installment, With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration, is now available for streaming, just in time for the holiday season. While it has delighted fans with festive cheer, some sharp-eyed viewers quickly noticed that the special was not filmed this year.

The holiday episode was created a few months after the filming of seasons 1 and 2 of With Love, Meghan, which took place in late spring and early summer of 2024. Observant fans spotted a key detail that helps pinpoint the filming period: Meghans beloved rescue beagle, Guy, makes a brief appearance. Guys presence indicates that the special was filmed before his passing in January 2025.

The hour-long special follows Meghan as she shares holiday traditions, entertaining tips, and cooking moments with friends and guests. Early in the episode, Guy can be seen wandering through Meghans Montecito home, subtly marking the timeline of the production. Guys passing was shared by Meghan in a heartfelt tribute earlier this year, making his cameo in the special especially poignant.

Seasons 1 and 2 of With Love, Meghan were filmed consecutively in spring and summer 2024, and the holiday episode followed a few months later during the start of the festive season. The special opens with Meghan visiting a Christmas tree farm in California, which typically opens around mid-November. Additionally, guest Will Guidara remarks that its one of the first festive things hes done that year, further indicating the early holiday timing.

Throughout the special, Meghan brings a festive spirit with activities including crafting traditional Christmas crackers with Guidara, cooking gumbo with chef Tom Colicchio, and enjoying brunch with longtime friends Kelly McKee Zajfen and Lindsay Jill Roth. Tennis star Naomi Osaka also joins her for a crafting segment. Prince Harry makes a brief appearance near the end, sharing a tender moment with Meghan in their kitchen.

The episode also highlights products from Meghans lifestyle brand, As Ever, including sparkling wines, hand-poured candles, artisanal fruit spreads, and golden California honey, which she features while giving gift ideas and kitchen tips. Notably, As Evers fruit spread gift box was recently selected for Oprah Winfreys annual Favorite Things list.

With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration is now streaming on Netflix, offering viewers a mix of holiday cheer, heartfelt moments, and festive inspiration from the Duchess of Sussex.
