Peter Sutherland returns for another thrilling chapter in The Night Agent as Season 3 of the Netflix drama series is set to premiere on February 19, 2026. Starring Gabriel Basso, the new season unveils a fresh set of storylines, introducing several new cast members, including Stephen Moyer, Genesis Rodriguez, David Lyons, and recurring star Suraj Sharma.
Following the intense conclusion of Season 2, Peter Sutherland (Basso) is tasked with tracking down a young Treasury agent (Sharma) who has fled to Istanbul with sensitive government intelligence after killing his superior. This leads Peter on a mission to investigate a dark money network while evading deadly assassins. Alongside a determined journalist (Rodriguez), they uncover buried secrets and dangerous grudges that could topple the government and threaten their lives.
Although the storyline mirrors Peter's earlier adventures with Rose Larkin (Luciane Buchanan) in previous seasons, Buchanan will not return for Season 3. Instead, Rodriguez's character, Isabel, will take on a role similar to Rose, as an ally to Peter. Season 3 introduces new faces alongside returning cast members from the second season.
The only returning series regular from Season 2 is Gabriel Basso. Joining him are the new additions Rodriguez, Moyer, Lyons, Jennifer Morrison, and Callum Vinson. In addition, several actors from Season 2, including Louis Herthum, Albert Jones, and Ward Horton, have been promoted to series regulars. Herthum returns as the shady businessman Jacob Monroe, while Jones portrays Deputy Director Aiden Mosely, and Horton reprises his role as Governor Richard Hagan, who is set to become the U.S. President.
Additionally, Fola Evans-Akingbola, who played Secret Agent Chelsea Arrington in Season 1, will be back after her brief absence in Season 2. Though she appeared in the Season 2 finale, she will return as a series regular for Season 3.
Missing from the Season 3 roster is Amanda Warren, who played Peters Night Action superior, Catherine Weaver, in Season 2. Though no longer a series regular, she will make appearances as a recurring character in the new season.
Season 3 Locations & Teaser
Filming took place primarily in New York, with a significant portion of the action set in Istanbul. The teaser showcases Peter's pursuit of the fugitive Treasury agent at Istanbul's Beikta Stadium, hinting at the action-packed nature of the season. The promo also introduces Moyer as The Father, a top hitman, and reveals the new tagline, What began with a call became a calling. This refers to Peters journey from a lowly FBI agent answering Night Action calls to becoming a top Night Agent.
Quick Return & Potential Season 4 Renewal
The Night Agent, produced by Sony Pictures Television, follows a model with a larger episode count and a lower budget than typical high-end streaming shows, with 10 episodes for Season 3 (up from 8). The quick return of the show in early 2026, just over a year after the January 2025 release of Season 2, is a sign of its continued popularity. Netflix, having renewed the show early for Season 3 before Season 2s premiere, is also likely to announce a Season 4 renewal following the show's success and a significant $31.6 million tax credit awarded to relocate production to Los Angeles.
Season 3 Cast & Crew
Season 3 is directed by Guy Ferland (Episodes 1-2), Adam Arkin (Episodes 3-4), Paris Barclay (Episodes 5-6), Hiromi Kamata (Episodes 7-8), and Billy Gierhart (Episodes 9-10). The writers include Munis Rashid, Anayat Fakhraie, Seth Fisher, Eileen Myers, Corey Deshon, Imogen Browder, Andres Smith, and Aiyana White.
The series, created by Shawn Ryan based on Matthew Quirk's novel, continues to be executive produced by Ryan and Marney Hochman through MiddKid Productions, alongside Seth Gordon and Julia Gunn for Exhibit A, James Vanderbilt, William Sherak, Paul Neinstein, and Nicole Tossou for Project X, and David Beaubaire for Sunset Lane Media.
