Prime Video Announces Release Date for Final Season of The Boys — Check Out the Trailer

The end is near for The Boys, and the series plans to go out with a bang. Prime Video confirmed during the CCXP panel in Brazil that the first two episodes of the shows fifth and final season will debut on Wednesday, April 8. New episodes will follow each week, culminating in the series finale on May 20. A fresh trailer for the upcoming season has also been released.

According to the official synopsis, Homelander now presides over a world fully bent to his volatile and self-serving impulses. Meanwhile, Hughie, Mothers Milk, and Frenchie find themselves confined in a so-called Freedom Camp. Annie attempts to rally a resistance against a vastly superior Supe force, and Kimiko has mysteriously disappeared. But everything shifts when Butcher resurfaces, determined to deploy a virus capable of eradicating Supes entirely, setting off events that will irreversibly reshape the world.

The final chapter will also reunite the longtime Supernatural trio Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, and Misha Collins. Returning cast members include Antony Starr, Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Colby Minifie, Cameron Crovetti, Susan Heyward, and Valorie Curry.

Series creator Eric Kripke revealed in June 2024 that the story was always designed to conclude with Season 5, noting that the creative direction had been set since early development of Season 3.

Additional projects within the franchise remain in progress, including the prequel Voight Rising featuring Ackles and Aya Cash, as well as a Spanish-language spinoff based in Mexico City.
