Priscilla Presley Opens Up About International Book Tour Amid Bombshell Lawsuit

Priscilla Presley is publicly responding to serious accusations while promoting her new memoir, Softly, As I Leave You: Life After Elvis, on an international speaking tour. Earlier this year, her former business associates, Brigitte Kruse and Kevin Fialko, filed a lawsuit claiming Priscilla removed her daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, from life support in January 2023 with the alleged motive of securing a $25 million life insurance payout and controlling Lisa Maries inheritance, including Graceland in Tennessee.

Priscilla, now 80, is vehemently defending herself. A source notes that she is determined to convince the public that she did not harm her daughter. Kruse and Fialkos legal action was reportedly filed as a countermeasure to Priscillas elder abuse suit, in which she accused them of exploiting her financially. According to her claims, the pair misled her while aiming to deplete her assets. In retaliation, Kruse and Fialko filed a 211-page countersuit, accusing Priscilla of using anyone to satisfy her alleged greed.

The countersuit mentions that Lisa Marie, months before her passing at 54, faced a $914,408 IRS bill and had plans to access a valuable insurance policy, which would have required removing Priscilla as trustee. The lawsuit asserts that when Lisa Marie was hospitalized after cardiac arrest, Priscilla allegedly seized the chance to gain control of the policy and disregarded her daughters directive to prolong her life, removing her from life support before Riley Keough, Lisa Maries eldest, could arrive. Ultimately, Priscilla remained the policys trustee. Riley Keough, in a joint statement with her grandmother, called the allegations deeply hurtful and emphasized their family unity.

In her memoir, Priscilla clarifies that Lisa Maries consciousness was absent while on life support. She claims medical advice indicated that even if her heart continued to function, there would be no meaningful quality of life. Remembering her daughters spirited personality, Priscilla decided to remove her from the ventilator. She firmly denies accusations that she sought control over Graceland or her daughters estate.

Priscillas attorney, Marty Singer, condemned the lawsuit as baseless and defamatory, calling it a malicious attempt to tarnish the reputation of an elderly woman. He also highlighted Riley Keoughs unwavering support for her grandmother. Since August 2023, Keough has been the sole trustee of Lisa Maries estate, including oversight for her younger twin sisters sub-trusts.

The memoir also addresses Lisa Maries troubled history, including struggles with addiction, her brief marriage to Michael Jackson, and the tragic 2020 suicide of her son, Benjamin Keough. Priscilla reflects candidly on her daughters rebellious childhood, insisting her intent is to provide an honest account rather than dishonor Lisa Marie.

Priscillas goal, according to sources, is to correct misconceptions about her intentions regarding Graceland and protect Elvis Presleys legacy. She also shares personal struggles in her book, recounting attempts to help Elvis with his prescription medication issues before his death in 1977, acknowledging that she could not save someone unwilling to be helped. She categorically rejects claims from Kruse and Fialko that she was responsible for Elviss passing, describing such assertions as absurd and unfounded.
