Production Assistants on 'All American' and 'Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage' Choose to Unionize

The movement for unionizing production assistants has achieved significant progress with two recent victories. Production assistants from the CW series All American and the CBS comedy Georgie & Mandys First Marriage successfully voted to form a union in separate elections held on Thursday, as confirmed by sources from The Hollywood Reporter.

Out of 15 production assistants and three other eligible workers on All American, 10 participated in the election, with all voting in favor of joining the union. Meanwhile, on Georgie & Mandys First Marriage, three of the five eligible production assistants also voted unanimously for unionization.

This effort was supported by Production Assistants United, which is associated with the Hollywood labor union LiUNA Local 724. Alex Aguilar, business manager for LiUNA Local 724, expressed the importance of these victories, stating, Securing two more unanimous PA election wins is a tremendous boost for our campaign and for production assistants across the industry. The enthusiasm on the ground is undeniablepeople want change, respect, and a voice. These wins show that momentum is on our side, and we are just getting started.

Warner Bros. Television, the production company behind both All American and Georgie & Mandys First Marriage, was contacted for comment, but has yet to respond.

These victories follow another significant development, where a union of production assistants from HBO Max's The Pitt ratified its first labor contract, securing health and pension benefits as well as professional development resources for its members.

Much like The Pitt, the unionization efforts for both All American and Georgie & Mandys First Marriage were organized in similar ways. Organizers set up a tent outside a Warner Bros. parking lot and began engaging with crew members as they arrived and left. As organizer Clio Byrne-Gudding shared earlier, Thats how we started seeding the organizing drive from here when we couldnt actually be close to the set.
