RHCP's Flea plans to debut solo album in 2026; check out new song 'A Plea' today

Flea, the bassist for Red Hot Chili Peppers, is set to release a solo album in 2026. The album, which has not yet been named, marks Flea's return to his original passion, the trumpet, according to a press statement.

The first glimpse of this project is a seven-minute single titled "A Plea", now available for listening. The track showcases Flea on trumpet, electric bass, and vocals, accompanied by a group of jazz musicians and singers.

Flea explains that "A Plea" expresses his longing for a space of love and personal expression. He says, I'm always just trying to be myself. I don't focus on politics; I believe there's a higher place where meaningful dialogue can help humanity live harmoniously and healthily. It's a place where love connects us all.

The music video for "A Plea" was directed by Flea's daughter, Clara Balzary, and is currently streaming on YouTube.

Red Hot Chili Peppers' latest album, Return of the Dream Canteen, was released in 2022, following Unlimited Love earlier that same year.
