One year after revealing his battle with stage 3 Non-Hodgkin lymphoma, actor Dave Coulier has disclosed that he is now being treated for a different form of cancer. He provided the update during the December 2, 2025, episode of Today.
In October, I went in for a routine PET scan, and it revealed something concerning, Coulier told Craig Melvin. It turned out I have P16 squamous carcinoma located at the base of my tongue.
Coulier emphasized that this new diagnosis is completely separate from his previous cancer. My doctors told me Id need radiation, so Im undergoing 35 treatments, he explained. I should complete them by December 31.
The actor remains optimistic, noting that early-stage P16 squamous carcinoma, also known as oropharyngeal tongue cancer, has a curability rate above 90%. Early detection saved my life the first time and again this time, he said. I encourage everyone to keep up with their medical checkupsthey truly save lives.
Coulier expressed gratitude for the support he has received from friends, family, and fans, highlighting his Full House co-star John Stamos. John flew to Michigan to visit us last year. He even caught COVID while staying with us, Coulier recalled with a laugh. But he came just to support me and my wife, Melissa. The outpouring of love has been incredible.
In November 2024, Coulier announced his stage 3 Non-Hodgkin lymphoma diagnosis, describing the experience as a fast roller coaster ride. By March, a representative confirmed he was cancer-free. Coulier credited his wife Melissa for being a pillar of strength during his recovery. Seeing her exhausted while helping me with my medications and daily needs is something that stays with you. This journey affects your loved ones deeply, he shared with Parade.
On Today, Coulier also revealed that his experience with cancer inspired him to launch a new company, AwearMarket, which will offer toxin-free wellness products. The company partners with the V Foundation for Cancer Research to support the Hockey Fights Cancer initiative and officially launches on Giving Tuesday.
