Charlotte Flair applies a Boston Crab on IYO SKY during "WWE Raw" - WWE

Welcome to Wrestling Inc.'s weekly recap of "WWE Raw," where the women's tag team titles continue to dominate the spotlight! Mondays episode kicked off and concluded with high-stakes tag team drama, featuring the team now calling themselves RHIYO against Charlexa Blair in the main event. True to "Raw" tradition, the match ended in disqualification, but that didnt stop Wrestling Inc.s team from weighing in on almost every aspect of the show.

We didnt focus on Bron Breakker facing CM Punk for the world title on January 5 or their promos, but almost everything else received our attention. For full match results, check our "Raw" results page. If youre interested in our take on the men's world tag title match, the Last Time Is Now tournament, and the Maxxine Dupri/Nattie vignette, youre in the right place. Heres what stood out from the December 1st episode.

Disappointments

LA Knight moves closer to facing John Cena

LA Knight defeated Jey Uso in the Last Time Is Now tournament semi-finals, earning a spot in the final against Gunther to determine Cena's final opponent. While Gunther seems like the more fitting choice to win, WWE opted to have Knight advance, making the Uso vs. Gunther story feel underwhelming. Usos loss to Knight didnt carry the weight it could have, leaving a sense that WWE missed a chance to build more tension and significance around the tournament finale.

Liv Morgan ignores Roxanne Perez

Liv Morgan returned on Saturday at Survivor Series to help "Dirty" Dom Mysterio reclaim the IC title. However, during her segment on Raw, she failed to acknowledge Roxanne Perez, who had been involved in Mysterios group during Morgans absence. Instead, Morgan focused on rumors about the women's title scene. This missed opportunity to plant seeds for a Morgan-Perez feud left the storyline feeling incomplete as the three women ended the night holding the tag titles together.

Tag team titles stuck in limbo

AJ Styles and Dragon Lee defended their WWE World Tag Team Championships against The New Day. Regardless of the match outcome, the tag titles remain in a frustrating cycle. If Styles and Lee win, their reign lacks stakes and momentum. If The New Day wins, they risk another inconsequential title run. WWEs tag team division continues to feel underdeveloped, highlighting the need for a refreshed and engaging direction.

Highlights

Gunther triumphs over Solo Sikoa

Gunther solidified his position as a top contender to face John Cena by defeating Solo Sikoa in the semi-finals. Despite Sikoa having Talla Tonga at ringside, Gunther overcame the odds, eventually winning with a low blow. The match showcased Gunthers ability to turn a wrestling contest into a compelling story while keeping Sikoa strong in defeat. This victory positions Gunther perfectly for the tournament finale.

Maxxine Dupri and Nattie vignette impresses

The pre-taped video featuring Maxxine Dupri and Nattie offered a cinematic glimpse into Natties character, showing her continued growth and training even after Dupri's recent Intercontinental Championship win. This vignette highlighted the potential for Nattie to contribute meaningfully to the main roster and the already stacked women's division, providing a compelling storyline of perseverance and ambition.

Women's tag titles at the center of attention

The main event featuring Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss vs. Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY ended in disqualification, but the match showcased the urgency surrounding the womens tag team titles. With multiple factions interfering, the segment emphasized that these championships are the hottest prize in the division. The chaotic, multi-layered finish worked well to advance storylines and highlight the depth of competition for the womens tag belts.
