Marjorie Taylor Greene Claims Trump Was ‘Angry at Me’ About Epstein Files During Phone Conversation

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene told 60 Minutes that former President Donald Trump expressed extreme anger regarding her support for making the Jeffrey Epstein files public. The interview marks her first detailed discussion since announcing her plan to resign from Congress in January 2026.

We spoke about the Epstein files, and he was extremely upset that I signed the petition to release them, Greene explained, referring to her role in advancing a House petition demanding the disclosure of all government documents linked to Epstein.

In a preview segment of the interview with journalist Leslie Stahl, Greene, 51, recounted a phone call with Trump, 79, describing his reaction as furious. She emphasized her belief that Epsteins victims deserve everything theyre asking for and that the files should be made fully public.

The legislation mandating the release of these documents passed both the House and Senate quickly, and Trump ultimately signed it, despite previous efforts to block the disclosure. The law requires the Justice Department to provide all files related to Epstein, including information connected to his 2019 death in federal custody, within 30 days.

Greene, who has represented Georgias 14th district since 2021 and long supported Trumps policies, noted rising tensions between her and the former president. In recent months, she publicly criticized some of his decisions, including the prior withholding of Epstein files.

In November, Trump declared that Greene had lost her way and withdrew his endorsement, calling her a traitor after she revealed receiving security warnings amid escalating threats.

On November 21, Greene announced her resignation, effective January 5, 2026, citing what she described as unfair treatment by her own party. She expressed concern about the impact of a contentious primary on her district and her family, stating she would not endure a political battle fueled by attacks from Trump while defending him against impeachment.

Greenes 60 Minutes interview is scheduled to air on Sunday, December 7, at 7 p.m. ET on CBS and Paramount+.
