Newsom taunts Trump with positive medical report authored by fictional character 'Dr. Doolittle'

After the White House published President Donald Trumps recent MRI results, California Governor Gavin Newsoms office responded with a playful and exaggerated medical report of their own. The satirical letter, attributed to Dr. Doolittle, humorously portrayed Newsom as the healthiest person alive and ever to live.

The mock report described the governors arteries as shimmering and his resting heart rate as so calm that the EKG supposedly questioned whether he was meditating or just naturally enlightened. This over-the-top praise mirrored a 2015 letter once attributed to Trumps physician, which had declared the former president as potentially the healthiest president this nation has ever seen.

The governors office noted that it usually does not comment on the health of other public officials, but decided to respond after the White House released Trumps MRI findings. The satirical letter humorously highlighted Newsoms ability to work full days without dozing off in meetings, avoid taking extended executive time, and maintain perfect posture without resembling the leaning Tower of Pisa.

Since Trump returned to the White House in January, Newsoms office has frequently used social media to mock the president through memes, exaggerated commentary, and playful imitations of Trumps own posts. The office has particularly focused on ongoing public speculation about Trumps physical and mental health, noting the controversies surrounding the transparency of his medical records.

While the White House described Trumps MRI results as normal, public skepticism remains due to past incidents, including how Trump handled his COVID-19 diagnosis in 2020. Despite facing his own scrutiny, Trump has frequently criticized former President Joe Biden for allegedly concealing health issues during his term.

The tongue-in-cheek letter from Newsoms team concluded that if a side-by-side health comparison were ever made public, it should be redacted to protect the presidents emotional well-being.
