Update on Fraud Trial of RHOP's Wendy and Eddie Osefo: Judge Approves Co-Defendants' Request

In a packed morning session at Carroll County Circuit Court in Maryland, Wendy and Eddie Osefo, stars of Real Housewives of Potomac, appeared before a judge and requested a significant change in how their case will proceed. Initially planning to be tried separately, the couple has now opted to move forward as co-defendants.

The pair are accused of committing multiple acts of fraud, including staging a burglary at their home and submitting numerous false insurance claims for luxury items. Both were arrested in October on more than a dozen charges each.

Previously, Wendy had filed motions seeking to be tried apart from her husband and requested the dismissal of charges, claiming an illegal arrest. Eddie also pursued a similar course through his legal team, raising questions among fans of the show.

During the hearing on Tuesday, December 2, reports indicate that Wendy and Eddie reversed their earlier strategy and asked to remain together as co-defendants. The judge approved this request, meaning the case will now continue with the couple jointly facing the allegations.

Their next court date is set for December 19. Despite the ongoing legal matters, Wendy remains optimistic. Speaking at BravoCon 2025, she emphasized that the charges are just allegations and expressed gratitude for the support from her fellow cast members and the production team.

The Real Housewives of Potomac airs Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo, with episodes available for next-day streaming on Peacock.
