Free event offering advice on healthier living

Residents of East Yorkshire will have the chance to receive professional guidance on adopting healthier habits at a no-cost event. Castle Hill Hospital in Cottingham is hosting the latest Fit4Life session on 11 December, featuring on-site mammograms and a variety of health consultations. Another session is scheduled for Grimsby in the near future.

Attendees can speak directly with hospital staff about quitting smoking, improving lifestyle habits, managing alcohol intake, participating in cancer screenings, and keeping up with vaccinations.

Lyn Simpson, interim group chief executive of NHS Humber Health Partnership, emphasized that the initiative aims to provide practical steps for enhancing personal wellbeing. The event will take place from 11:00 to 14:00 GMT in the hospitals wellbeing suite and is designed to address the most common health concerns of East Yorkshire and northern Lincolnshire residents.

"While our hospitals are always available when medical attention is needed, Fit4Life provides an engaging, interactive approach to making healthier choices that could prevent future health issues," Ms. Simpson added.

Previous Fit4Life events were held at Hull Royal Infirmary in July, Scunthorpe in August, and Goole in November. Plans are underway for another session at Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby in the upcoming year.
