A 25-year-old man has appeared in St Albans Crown Court facing a murder charge following a stabbing at a restaurant in Bushey, Hertfordshire. Dequain Williams is accused of killing Jayanthran Ramachandran during the incident at the Vu Lounge on the High Street on Saturday, 29 November.
During the hearing, Williams only confirmed his personal details and was not asked to enter a plea. Judge Jonathan Mann ordered that he remain in custody and scheduled the trial for June.
Hertfordshire Police confirmed that the victim, in his 30s, passed away earlier this week after being hospitalized. Williams was initially charged with attempted murder, which has since been upgraded to a murder charge. The case is due for the next hearing on 18 February.
