Siena men's lacrosse coach hospitalized following 'serious accident' at home

Siena Colleges mens lacrosse head coach, Liam Gleason, was hospitalized after a severe accident at his residence on Sunday. According to authorities, Gleason, 41, fell down a staircase and sustained a significant head injury.

Emergency responders, including local police and paramedics, rushed to Gleasons home, where CPR was performed during his transport to a nearby hospital. The university requested privacy for Gleason and his family while asking the community for their support and prayers.

Womens basketball coach Terry Primm expressed the teams hope for recovery, stating, Were praying for a miracle. A GoFundMe campaign set up for Gleason, his wife Jaclyn, and their three children had raised around $265,000 by Tuesday morning. The fundraiser describes the incident as a traumatic brain injury and emphasizes the long emotional and financial challenges the family will face.

Gleason has led Sienas lacrosse program for seven seasons, guiding the team to the MAAC championship in 2025 and securing the schools first NCAA tournament appearance in over a decade. Prior to Siena, he spent six years coaching at his alma mater, the University of Albany.
