Elderly man killed in two-vehicle crash

An elderly man in his 80s has lost his life following a crash involving two vehicles. Emergency services, including police, paramedics, and firefighters, responded to the incident on the A12 near Saxmundham, Suffolk, around 14:00 GMT, where a grey Nissan Almera collided with a red Mazda at the B1119 Rendham Road junction.
The Almeras driver died at the scene. Meanwhile, the Mazdas driver and two passengers sustained injuries and were transported to a hospital, according to Suffolk Police.
A man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving after failing a roadside drug test and is currently being held in police custody.
