Michael Bublé considers meeting Pope Leo as 'one of the greatest moments'

Music legend Michael Bubl has shared that meeting Pope Leo XIV at the Vatican was one of the greatest moments of my life. The two met on Friday, just before Bubls headline performance at the Vaticans annual Christmas Concert with the Poor on Saturday.

Bubl revealed to the press that Pope Leo requested him to sing Ave Maria. The Canadian artist also mentioned that Silent Night and Adeste Fideles are among his favorite Christmas hymns.

According to the Catholic News Agency, this will be the first time a pope has attended the free concert, which provides for 3,000 people in need. After the performances, the attendees are invited to a meal and given essential supplies.

Raised in a Catholic family, Bubl discussed his religious beliefs during a news conference on Friday. He expressed how surprising it can be for some people when others openly discuss their faith.

When you say that you have strong faith, this is shocking to people, which is sometimes hard for me to understand, Bubl explained. And with the platform I have, my hope is that theres a young person who might listen to me today who might be afraid to share their faith or to be open about it, and they look at me and they say, Wow, look at Bubl. Hes not afraid to share it, and maybe it will give them the strength to do the same.

Bubl also noted that while there is often a lot of darkness in the world, faith in God can provide comfort and peace unlike anything else.

Christmas is about celebrating the birth of Christ and the sacrifice that allows all of us to have eternal life, Bubl said, adding that music plays a central role in his spiritual journey. Music is a gift from God. I talk to so many people today about what a gift from God music is.
