Sixteen individuals received medical attention after carbon monoxide leaked from a diesel generator near a residential block. The incident took place at Queen's Apartments on Robertson Terrace, Hastings, just before 19:00 GMT on Tuesday.
South East Coast Ambulance (SECamb) reported that all sixteen people were assessed and treated on site, with seven later transported to hospital for additional evaluation.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service, collaborating with Southern Gas Networks, confirmed that residents were evacuated following elevated carbon monoxide readings originating from a commercial diesel generator, which impacted nearby apartments.
The fire service also noted that the A259 Seafront access was temporarily closed by police to allow emergency responders to manage the situation safely.
