DUBAI, United Arab Emirates Yemens Houthi movement has announced the release of sailors detained following their assault on the vessel Eternity C in the Red Sea in July. According to the group, the mariners were handed over to Omani authorities and were en route to the sultanate, as reported Wednesday by the Houthi-run al-Masirah news channel.
Oman has not yet confirmed the release, but a Royal Oman Air Force aircraft recently landed in Sanaa, the Houthi-controlled capital of Yemen. Earlier, the Philippines had expressed expectations that its nationals held by the Houthis would be freed following the incident.
