Bauer Technologies has been awarded the contract to carry out specialized piling and geotechnical operations for the 24-storey mixed-use Dovetail Building in central London. The construction firm Deconstruct UK appointed Bauer on behalf of client Brockton Everlast.
The Dovetail Building aims to enhance office and retail spaces in the heart of the city, featuring a three-level basement and a tower constructed to meet contemporary sustainability standards.
The project will be executed in two stages to accommodate archaeological work led by the Museum of London Archaeology. The initial phase, running from last month through February 2026, will involve the removal of existing piles and the installation of the majority of the new secant wall. The second phase, scheduled for June to September 2026, will focus on installing a cased CFA secant pile line along the party boundary and completing foundation and bearing piles. This stage will also include temporary structures for tower cranes and gantry systems.
Sustainability is central to Bauers approach, with site machinery powered by hydrotreated vegetable oil and concrete mixes using locally sourced blended cement. Low-carbon reinforcement steel will be utilized, alongside waste-minimization practices to enhance efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
John Theos, Managing Director of Bauer Technologies, commented: We are pleased to collaborate again with Deconstruct UK on such a high-profile London development. The Dovetail Building highlights technically complex, sustainability-focused construction where our expertise in urban foundations and innovative methods can deliver meaningful results. This project demonstrates how deep foundation solutions can be executed responsibly and effectively in harmony with Londons built environment.
Bauer Technologies is the UK subsidiary of Bauer Spezialtiefbau, a German construction company based in Schrobenhausen specializing in foundation works. In May, ZBLIN Spezialtiefbau, part of the STRABAG Group, acquired Bauer Spezialtiefbau Austria for an undisclosed sum.
