7 Questions We Hope Are Answered in 'Taylor Swift: The End of an Era'

As the premiere of Taylor Swift: The End of an Era draws near, we can't help but wonder about several aspects of her record-breaking Eras Tour, which ran through 2023 and 2024. With so many questions still on our minds, were eager to learn more. Swifts latest album, The Life of a Showgirl, topped the Billboard 200 for seven consecutive weeks, and her hit single "The Fate of Ophelia" continues to reign on the Billboard Hot 100. The documentary, set to be released the day before Taylor's birthday, will provide a closer look at this monumental chapter in her career.

From the snippets we've seen, we've already gotten a glimpse into her world. A dancer offers an interview, a personal message is projected before she hits the stage, and we see the behind-the-scenes moments that led to her meeting with Travis Kelce. We've also learned that Andrea Swift has her say, and Taylor signed numerous albums after shows because she couldn't sleep. Additionally, she takes us behind the scenes of the final mashup in Vancouver, featuring New Years Day, Long Live, and The Manuscript. Plus, we now know she occasionally used a janitors cart to get to her concerts. But we still have a few burning questions, and we hope the documentary will shed some light on these mysteries.

Taylor Swift: The End of an Era is set to premiere on December 12, 2025 on Disney+, along with The Eras Tour: The Final Show, which features never-before-seen high-definition footage from the Tortured Poets Department set. Below are the questions we hope are answered:

  • Why didnt Taylor have a dedicated era for her debut album? While she performed several songs from her 2006 debut during the acoustic segment of the show, none made it into the regular setlist. Every other album had its own dedicated portion of the show, especially during the first leg of the tour. Even folklore and evermore were eventually merged after the addition of the Tortured Poets Department.
  • Who came up with the idea for Travis to join her on stage? How did that conversation go down? Were curious about how this iconic moment came about and who pitched the idea first.
  • Why did some of the color combinations from the 1989 set never get used? Fans meticulously tracked every outfit, and although Taylor mixed up the combinations of her tops, skirts, and shoes during European shows, there were certain comboslike green on green or a green top with a yellow skirtthat were never worn. What was the reasoning behind these fashion choices?
  • How did she decide the song order for the shows? With such a vast catalog of hits, choosing the right sequence must have been a monumental task. We wonder what the thought process was behind the setlist's arrangement.
  • Why wasnt Girl at Home included in the surprise acoustic set? Some songs clearly didnt make it to the surprise section, likely due to personal or sensitive reasons, but Girl at Home stands out as one that fans were particularly puzzled about not hearing. Was there a specific reason?
  • What was the deal with the Reputation bodysuit? Up until the 2024 Miami shows, Taylor only wore a single black-and-red outfit from her Reputation era. However, on October 18, 2024, she surprised her audience with a black-and-gold version of the suit. What was the significance of this shift in wardrobe?
  • How did she manage to write two albums while on tour? Taylor announced that she had been working on her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, for two years before its release in April 2024. She revealed that she wrote part of it during her breaks on the road, while also working on The Life of a Showgirl by flying back and forth between Sweden and her tour dates. How did she balance the intense demands of touring with the creative process?

These are just some of the questions were hoping will be answered in the upcoming documentary. We cant wait to see what other behind-the-scenes moments Taylor shares with us.
