Chaka Khan has shaped the music world for generations, yet her earliest work continues to captivate listeners. On Friday, Dec. 5, the singers official Instagram honored the anniversary of RUFUSIZED, the gold-certified third studio album by Rufus featuring Khans unmistakable vocals.

The post noted that the 1974 ABC Records release was the groups second album that year and a milestone in their ascent. Rufus originated in Chicago with members Kevin Murphy (keyboard), Tony Maiden (guitar/vocals), Bobby Watson (bass/vocals), Andr Fischer (drums), and later additions David Hawk Wolinski (keyboard/vocals) and John JR Robinson (drums).

The bands catalog boasts classics such as Tell Me Something Good, Sweet Thing, Do You Love What You Feel, and Aint Nobody. Marking 51 years since its debut, the tribute highlighted the projects achievements: RUFUSIZED climbed to No. 7 on the Billboard albums chart, earned Gold status, and produced one of their signature hits, Once You Get Started, which reached No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 4 on the R&B chart.
