Concertgoers upset to discover cars booted after prepaying for parking through Ticketmaster

Attendees of a Chris Fleming comedy show in Atlanta were left frustrated when they returned to find their cars immobilized, despite having prepaid for parking via Ticketmaster. The incident took place in late August at the Buckhead Theatre, where fans exiting the 2:30 p.m. performance discovered their vehicles booted in a closed IHOP lot on Peachtree Road by Empire Parking Services (EPS).

Police body camera footage obtained by local news shows that concertgoers were stuck for roughly 90 minutes, even though they had Ticketmaster parking confirmations. Mark Mobley, one of the attendees whose car had boots on both front tires, explained that some confirmations included images of the lot, adding to their frustration.

An EPS employee reportedly told police that the parking payments had not been communicated to them because Ticketmaster's contractor, LAZ Parking, failed to forward the necessary information. EPS acknowledged that resolving the issue would take time, but an Atlanta officer assisted in removing all the boots free of charge.

All the boots have been taken off. All is forgiven, the officer said on bodycam audio. Mobley received a refund through Ticketmaster and noted that the incident appeared to be an isolated case, although he questioned whether similar mistakes could happen in the future.

Interestingly, Mobley mentioned that Fleming had joked about situations like this during his set. The comedian, known for his viral videos and the series Gayle, has performed widely across the U.S. and appeared on platforms such as Netflix, Adult Swim, and various comedy festivals.
