Marciano Brunette Takes Legal Action Against Demi Engemann for Defamation After Accusation of Being a 'Sexual Predator'

Marciano Brunette has initiated legal action against The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives personality Demi Engemann, accusing her of spreading false claims of sexual misconduct on social media and in the Hulu series.

The complaint, submitted on December 5, states that Engemann allegedly used her influence as a TV figure and online creator to portray Brunette as having engaged in inappropriate behaviorclaims he asserts are entirely fabricated.

According to the filing, the two reality stars exchanged what Brunette describes as a mutually agreed-upon kiss while working together on Vanderpump Villa. The lawsuit contends that Engemann later recast the consensual moment as misconduct and subsequently as sexual assault as her storyline developed on Mormon Wives.

Throughout the third season of the series, Engemann repeatedly accused Brunette of unwanted touching. Brunette publicly rejected these allegations in a statement released on November 20, stressing that the accusations were false and damaging.

The complaint also asserts that Brunette and Engemann remained in communication for several months following the alleged incident, exchanging phone calls, FaceTime conversations, text messages, invitations, and even shared locations. Screenshots included in the filing reportedly show friendly exchanges, including one message in which Engemann encouraged him to come out and do ketamine and another where she sent him prayers and positive vibes.

Brunette expressed gratitude to those supporting him, adding that he is prepared to take legal action against anyone who attempts to harm his reputation.

The lawsuit names Jeff Jenkins Productions, the company behind The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, claiming it knowingly aired Engemanns accusations despite indications that her account was unreliable. The complaint argues that the production amplified her statementsincluding labeling Brunette a sexual predatorwhile excluding him from responding on camera.

Brunette alleges that Engemann did not begin describing the incident as assault until several months later, shortly after he posted an Instagram Story suggesting he had been uninvited from a Hulu event. In the episode that followed, Engemann countered by accusing him of being a sexual predator who cant keep his hands to himself.

The suit further claims that Engemann insinuated Brunette had harmed other women, publicly suggesting that additional accusers might come forward.

Brunette is seeking unspecified damages as well as a court order preventing Engemann and Jeff Jenkins Productions from repeating or distributing any statements deemed defamatory.
