Martin Scorsese and 'Billions' Creators Join Forces for Netflix Las Vegas Drama

Netflix is developing a new Las Vegas-based drama led by director Martin Scorsese and writers Brian Koppelman and David Levien, known for Oceans Thirteen and Billions. The streaming giant has greenlit an eight-episode season that will follow the president of a high-profile Las Vegas hotel and casino as he navigates the power plays required to maintain and grow his influence in the city.

Koppelman and Levien will both write the currently untitled series and act as showrunners. They will also executive produce alongside Scorsese and his Sikelia Productions, Julie Yorn and Rick Yorn of Expanded Media, Paul Schiff, and Beth Schacter. Kerry Orent will serve as co-executive producer.

This project marks Koppelman and Leviens first television series since the conclusion of Billions in 2023. Plans for multiple spinoffs of Billions were previously considered by former Showtime and MTV Entertainment chief Chris McCarthy but were abandoned following the Paramount-Skydance merger and his departure.

In addition to Billions and Oceans Thirteen, Koppelman and Levien have a broad portfolio, including creating Showtimes Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber and ESPNs poker drama Tilt, as well as writing the screenplays for Rounders and Steven Soderberghs The Girlfriend Experience.

Scorseses television credits include executive producing and directing the pilot episodes of HBOs Boardwalk Empire and Vinyl, as well as directing, executive producing, and appearing in Netflixs docuseries Pretend Its a City. He is also executive producing the upcoming Apple TV series Cape Fear.
