Matthew Perry's parents issue statement before sentencing - Report

As the sentencing approaches for Dr. Salvador Placenscia, one of the five individuals found guilty in connection with Matthew Perrys death, the late actors parents have reportedly issued a statement in newly submitted victim impact letters to the court. They described Placenscia as among the most culpable of all.

According to recent reports, Perrys mother and stepfather, Suzanne and Keith Morrison, expressed their grief in the letters, reflecting on the immense loss they experienced. They wrote, How do you measure grief? Can you possibly provide any rational accounting? The bottom falling out? Yes, that. Here was a life so entwined with ours and held aloft sometimes with duct tape and baling wire, with anything that might keep that big, terrible thing from killing our firstborn son, and our hearts with him. And then those greedy jackals come out of the dark, and all the effort is for naught; it all crashes down.

The couple described their sorrow as a deep well and directly criticized Dr. Placenscia for his role, noting, No one alive and in touch with the world at all could have been unaware of Matthews struggles. But this doctor conspired to break his most important vows, repeatedly, sneaked through the night to meet his victim in secret. They questioned whether money was the motive, adding, Some things are very hard to understand.

Perrys father and stepmother, John and Debby Perry, also issued a statement, indicating that Placenscia didnt deserve to hear their feelings. They wrote, Matthews recovery counted on you saying NO. Your motives? I cant imagine. A doctor whose life is devoted to helping people? Whatever were you thinking? How long did you possibly see supplying Matthew countless doses without his death to eventually follow? Did you care? Did you think? They urged the court to consider a harsher sentence for the doctor.

Matthew Perrys death on October 28, 2023, remains one of the most heartbreaking events in recent Hollywood history.
