Transforming a garden into a Winter Wonderland for a charitable cause

A local garden has been beautifully converted into a Winter Wonderland to support charitable causes. The annual celebration will take place at the Bachmann family residence, Les Ruettes Cottage in St Saviour, Guernsey, and is set to welcome visitors from 18:00 GMT.

Last year, the event, adorned with sparkling lights, festive decorations, and charming figurines, raised 20,000. The proceeds were shared between Autism Guernsey and the Lions Club of Guernsey, and both organizations will benefit again this year.

John McLaughlin of the Lions Club described the Winter Wonderland as a festive kickoff to Christmas, delighting both children and adults. He highlighted that the money raised plays a crucial role in funding projects such as the club's meals-on-wheels service.

"We've seen a growing demand for assistance this year, likely influenced by rising living costs," Mr McLaughlin said. "We aim to support those on the island who need it wherever we can."

Cherry Macmillan from Autism Guernsey emphasized that the event is one of the charity's major fundraisers and "one of the most enjoyable evenings of the year."

"Its wonderful to witness the joy on both the childrens and adults faces," she added.
