A sexual assault lawsuit filed against MMA star Conor McGregor, related to an alleged incident during the 2023 NBA Finals, has been dismissed in Florida.
The plaintiff, known as Jane Doe, requested the case be dropped, and the court granted the dismissal with prejudice on Wednesday, preventing the lawsuit from being refiled.
The case concerned claims that McGregor assaulted the woman in a men's restroom following Game 4 of the Finals between the Miami Heat and Denver Nuggets. The plaintiff alleged that McGregor forcibly kissed her, compelled her to perform oral sex, and attempted to sodomize her. Shortly after the allegations surfaced, video footage appeared showing McGregor leading the woman toward the restroom. At the time, McGregor and his representatives denied the claims, calling them false.
McGregor, who attended the game at the Kaseya Center in Miami, was also involved in a promotional stunt during the event, which included him punching the Heat's mascot. The stunt ended with the mascot being hospitalized after receiving two punches to the head.
Following the alleged assault, the plaintiff filed a police report. After an investigation, no criminal charges were filed against McGregor.
The 37-year-old fighter has faced multiple sexual assault accusations over the years. In a separate civil case in Ireland last year, he was found liable for sexually assaulting a woman in a Dublin hotel in 2018 and was ordered to pay over $259,000 in damages.
