Video: Oklahoma dog has the longest tongue in the world at 7 inches

On December 3, an Oklahoma family's dog achieved a Guinness World Record for having the longest tongue on a living dog. The dog, named Ozzy, a mix of French mastiff and bull mastiff, had his tongue measured at an impressive 7.83 inches.

Ozzy, owned by Angela Pick and her family, officially surpassed the previous record held by Rocky, a dog from Bloomington, Illinois, whose tongue measured 5.46 inches in 2023.

"Ozzy has always had a tongue that sticks out of his mouth since he was born," Pick told Guinness World Records. "Theres nothing medically wrong with him. Weve had veterinarians check him several timesno dental issues or health problemshis tongue is just unusually long."

Despite its extraordinary length, Ozzy's tongue does not lead to excessive slobbering. "Its funnyconsidering how long his tongue is, he doesnt lick much," Pick explained. "He doesnt give kisses in the usual way. Instead, he shows affection by getting close and rubbing noses."
