Authorities detained 26 individuals during a pro-Palestine demonstration held outside Lancaster Castle. The event, organized by the campaign group Defend Our Juries - Lift the Ban on Palestine Action, took place on Saturday afternoon and was part of coordinated protests at ten different locations nationwide, including Bristol, Manchester, and Birmingham.
Lancashire Police reported that some attendees were seen displaying materials in support of Palestine Action, which was officially banned under the Terrorism Act 2000 in July.
Of those arrested, 16 were women and 10 were men. All were taken into custody on suspicion of backing a proscribed organization under Section 13 of the Terrorism Act 2000.
