Bus companies combine to streamline transportation system.

In a move aimed at enhancing convenience for commuters, two bus services in the West Midlands have been unified and improved. The Ring and Ride service, operating across Birmingham, Wolverhampton, and the Black Country, has been merged with Coventry's on-demand transport service, creating the new West Midlands Bus On Demand (WMBOD).

The West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) stated that the integration of these services will simplify the bus network, making it more user-friendly for passengers.

Effective from Monday, the upgrade includes the introduction of smaller vehicles that complement the current minibus fleet, providing greater flexibility in transportation.

WMBOD allows residents to travel distances up to five miles, offering the option to schedule as many as 14 trips per week. Trips can be booked either through a dedicated app or by phone, increasing accessibility for passengers.

The service redesign is part of a wider effort to modernize the regions public transport system and improve the overall passenger experience.
