Key Details
Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu reunited on the Drew Barrymore Show on December 5, sporting identical outfits during the episode.
The two actresses, who previously worked together in the Charlie's Angels films in 2000 and 2003, appeared on the show while Liu's new film, Rosemead, was about to release.
For the reunion, Barrymore, 50, and Liu, 57, both wore stylish khaki pantsuits, which included wide-legged trousers, crisp white shirts, and matching burgundy ties adorned with a white design.
As Barrymore introduced her co-star, she said, Heres my sister from another mother, Lucy Liu. Yes, were matching outfits, because thats how we roll. Were 2/3 of the ultimate crime-fighting team, after all.
Liu jokingly added, Well just have to make do without Cam for now, referring to their former co-star Cameron Diaz, the third member of the iconic trio. Barrymore quickly clarified that Diaz was filming on location in New Jersey and mentioned that the trio would reunite soon.
The reunion occurred just before Liu's new project, Rosemead, premiered in theaters. The film is inspired by real events and tells the story of a mother, played by Liu, who goes to extreme lengths to protect her troubled son. Barrymore expressed excitement for Lius portrayal, noting, Your son will grow up and witness what his mom doesthis wild journey. I hope youre incredibly proud of what youve done in Rosemead and with your son, Rockwell.
With tears in her eyes, Liu thanked Barrymore for her emotional words, saying, I cant talk right now. Thank you. Barrymore, in response, shared, You really did it. You really, really did it. Liu, joking about her emotional state, added, Are you trying to make me cry more?
Barrymore concluded, Congratulations, I cant wait for the weekend. Im so happy for you, and its so well deserved!
