Madi Prewett, known from The Bachelor, has shared that she has grown to love her role as a "submissive wife." During a recent episode of her Stay True Podcast, the 29-year-old reality star reflected on her journey, describing it as challenging at first but now something she cherishes. "It was difficult for me initially. Now, its actually my favorite part. I enjoy discussing submission," Prewett explained.
Prewett married Grant Troutt in October 2022, and the couple has a 10-month-old daughter named Hosanna. On the podcast, Prewett joined Troutt and guest Bryce Crawford to discuss marriage and engagement experiences, including Crawford's engagement to Maddy Dodd.
She admitted that learning how to be a "submissive wife" required adjustment. "Ive learned a lot along the way. At first, it was a struggle, but now its something I deeply enjoy," Prewett stated. This conversation continues a recurring theme on her podcast, as she has previously talked about the responsibilities and commitments of being a wife, including love, respect, and prioritizing her husband alongside her faith.
Reflecting on their wedding, Prewett said that their engagement period was challenging. The couple exchanged vows on October 29, 2022, in Dallas, Texas, in front of 400 guests, just three months after getting engaged. "Marriage is a beautiful, humbling, and refining adventure. Its also an incredible friendship," Prewett described. She noted that despite the excitement, the engagement brought its own difficulties, including family losses and personal challenges.
Offering advice to those preparing for marriage, Prewett emphasized, "Focus on unity, not on being right. That was one of the hardest lessons for me early in marriage." She added that prayer and humility were crucial in overcoming her initial struggles.
The couple also frequently shares their approach to parenting on the podcast. In July, they discussed discipline, referencing their beliefs and the Bible. They suggested that appropriate correction is important in guiding children, noting that it should follow disobedience rather than obedience.
Prewett and Troutt continue to openly discuss their experiences with marriage, parenting, and faith, giving listeners insight into their personal and family life.
