Justin Baldoni informs pregnant Blake Lively about his circumcision, unprompted

During a recent deposition, Justin Baldoni recounted details from his first meeting with Blake Lively concerning their collaboration on It Ends With Us. The actor and director admitted that he mentioned being circumcised while talking with Lively, even though she did not directly inquire about it. Baldoni emphasized, "I don't talk about my genitalia."

The deposition transcript, filed in court on Thursday, revealed that the conversation took place in Lively's New York City apartment in December 2022. Ryan Reynolds and several members of the couple's household staff were present during the discussion. According to Baldoni, Lively was visibly pregnant when they met to discuss her potential involvement in the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover's novel, which he eventually directed and co-starred in.

When asked if their discussion involved whether Lively's unborn child would be circumcised, Baldoni confirmed it was mentioned. He also acknowledged that he voluntarily shared his circumcision status with Lively, even though she did not ask directly. He reiterated that he never discusses such personal matters with colleagues outside that instance.

Baldoni detailed the presence of multiple people in the apartment at the time, including Ryan Reynolds, two nannies, a housekeeper, and Lively's assistants. "There were people going all around," he noted, while he and Lively sat on the couch.

The legal dispute between Baldoni and Lively has intensified. In December 2024, Lively filed a complaint with the California Civil Rights Department alleging sexual harassment on the set of It Ends With Us and accusing Baldoni of attempting to smear her reputation. She subsequently initiated a federal lawsuit in New York against Baldoni and his production company, Wayfarer. Baldoni denied the allegations and later filed a $400 million countersuit against Lively and Reynolds, claiming civil extortion, defamation, breach of contract, and invasion of privacy. A judge dismissed the countersuit in June 2025.

Most recently, Baldonis legal team requested a summary judgment to have the case decided without going to trial, which is scheduled for March 2026. Lively's attorneys have opposed this motion, seeking to proceed with the trial as planned.
