Surfline operates live webcams overlooking surf locations worldwide, and early Thursday morning, one of these cameras apparently captured unusual lights above Ventura, California. This wasnt in the forecast, Surfline commented on Instagram.

The video, accessible to subscribers reviewing the camera feed, shows two luminous objects that resemble flying saucers. At one point, the lights appear to merge into a single glowing shape.

The recording began at 4:46 a.m., and by Thursday evening, the origin of the lights remained unexplained. Social media followers quickly shared their guesses. One suggested, Probably checking out our waves, accompanied by an alien emoji, while another remarked, They are here for the supermoon.

Some users questioned the authenticity of the footage, prompting Surfline to provide a link to the camera feeds rewind feature. Others speculated it might be a marketing tactic, as accessing the footage requires a premium subscription.

Another popular theory pointed to a satellite launch from Vandenberg Space Force Base in nearby Santa Barbara County as the source of the lights.

Regardless of the explanation, the post drew significant attention, attracting over 7,000 views and more than 300 comments within the first hour.
