Rand Paul Accuses Pete Hegseth of Either Deceiving Us or Being Incompetent

Republican Senator Rand Paul sharply condemned Defense Secretary Pete Hegseths handling of the September 2 boat bombings, accusing him of shifting responsibility away from himself and President Trump onto Admiral Frank Bradley.

It seems they are attempting to place the blame on someone else rather than themselves, Paul told reporters Tuesday evening. There was a clear statement on SundaySecretary Hegseth claimed he had no knowledge of this and said it didnt happen. He called it fake news. Yet the following day, at the White House podium, it was acknowledged that it did happen.

Paul continued, So either he misled us on Sunday, or he was completely unaware of the events. Can anyone really believe that the Secretary of Defense was unaware of a second strike?

The controversy has intensified as Hegseth and the Trump administration present their narrative on the boat bombing, questioning its occurrence and the decision-making behind a second strike aimed at two survivors clinging to the wreckage.

During Tuesdays Cabinet meeting, Hegseth admitted he did not know there were survivors after the first attack, citing the fog of war as a reason for the uncertainty. He placed full responsibility for the subsequent strike on Admiral Bradley.

Pauls critique highlights the administrations chaotic and potentially unlawful approach to the incident, remarking that Hegseths performance has displayed both incompetence and poor judgment.
