Top Trump Associate Makes Outlandish Claim About President's Work Ethic

Speaker Mike Johnson has raised eyebrows with a striking assertion about how much President Donald Trump dedicates to work each day. During an interview on Fox Business with Stuart Varney, Johnson, 53, was asked if he himself works 18-hour days. He responded, More! And I have to, because President Trump works 21 hours a day.

Johnson claims his own 18-hour workdays are necessary to keep pace with the 79-year-old president, who he insists works even longer hours.

This claim emerges amid growing scrutiny of Trumps health and fitness. Sources close to the president indicated he is particularly sensitive to comparisons with former President Joe Biden, a reflection of the nickname Sleepy Joe Trump assigned to Biden. Observers have noted photos of Trump appearing to nod off during recent meetings, fueling public discussion about his stamina.

On November 6, Trump was photographed closing his eyes during an Oval Office event aimed at lowering the cost of GLP-1 medications. Later this week, additional images from Getty and AFP showed the president appearing drowsy during a Cabinet meeting.

Reports indicate that Trumps schedule in his second term has become significantly lighter. The New York Times found that he typically begins his workdays around 11 a.m. or noon and concludes public engagements in the early evening. Official appearances have dropped nearly 40% compared to his first term, with 1,029 events held between January and November 2025, compared to 1,688 in the same period of his first term.

Trump is also known to take frequent breaks, including trips to his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida. Records show that at least 79 days of his second term included hours devoted to golf. Despite this, White House officials maintain that the presidents health is strong. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt described Trump as being in excellent health, praising his relentless work ethic, unmatched energy, and historic accessibility.

In addition to reports of appearing drowsy, Trump has also been photographed with a bandaged hand, sparking further speculation about his condition. Supporters in his inner circle frequently echo claims about the presidents intense work habits. Vice President JD Vance, for example, recently stated that Trump often completes 20-hour trips without sleeping. Similarly, Tulsi Gabbard and Pam Bondi have echoed stories of the presidents near-constant activity.

Bondi commented in September, None of us can keep up with him, we always joke. I dont know how he does it. I mean, none of us know when he sleeps. Hes working all the time, and its just constant for him.
