Illegal dumping of mattress, tyres, and gas canisters on land

A significant amount of waste has been illegally discarded along a country lane in West Yorkshire. Among the dumped items are a mattress, tires, and empty gas canisters, found on land at Ned Lane, close to the entrance of Black Carr Woods, situated between Holme Wood and Pudsey.

The situation was brought to public attention by Leeds councillor Simon Seary, representing the Pudsey ward, who shared photos of the waste on Facebook on Wednesday. He stated that he would report the matter to Bradford Council.

A visit to the site on Thursday by the Local Democracy Reporting Service revealed that the pile had grown since the initial post. The rubbish was partially covered with soil and garden debris, including charred wood, with a shower head also visible among the waste.

Bradford Council, which recently increased its maximum fine for fly-tipping from 400 to 1,000, has been contacted for comment.

Earlier this month, four new CCTV cameras were installed in parts of Keighley in response to repeated fly-tipping issues in a local hotspot.
