Overcrowded stations and widespread delays: Trains throughout Israel face hours of delays following deadly rail accident

Israel Railways confirmed that train operations have resumed completely following a tragic accident. Early Sunday morning, a man lost his life after being struck by a train near Ganot Junction, according to Magen David Adom.

The man fell from a bridge onto the tracks south of HaHaganah train station in Tel Aviv, resulting in injuries that proved fatal. The accident caused significant delays, with trains across Israel experiencing interruptions of up to 90 minutes. Israel Railways reported that partial train service was initially allowed from southern Tel Aviv, operating on a single track, until full operations were restored following clearance from Israel Police.

In an unrelated event, six people sustained injuries in a three-vehicle collision in Rosh Haayin. Emergency teams from Magen David Adom treated a 58-year-old man with serious injuries, a 45-year-old woman in moderate condition, and four others with minor wounds. All six victims were transported to Rabin Medical Center-Beilinson Campus in Petah Tikva for further medical care.
