Kim Kardashian Wore 22-Carat Diamond Ring for Paris Robbery Trial Despite Potential Disrespect

In a recent episode of The Kardashians, Kim Kardashian shared her reasons for wearing a 22-carat diamond ring while testifying in the Paris robbery trial in May 2025. The SKIMS founder admitted she wanted to send a clear message to those involved in the 2016 heist.

"Should I wear the ring that was stolen from me and later replaced?" Kardashian asked while putting on the massive gem. "22 carats, baby!" She complemented the ring with a necklace and an ear cuff for her courtroom appearance.

Her mother, Kris Jenner, expressed concern over the flashy jewelry, but Kardashian insisted, "Theyre not gonna take my power. I wanna be who I wanna be, and I feel like they took that away from me for so long."

In a confessional, Kardashian elaborated, explaining that for years she avoided wearing diamonds due to the trauma of the robbery, which affected how she lived and what she kept at home. "But now, Im not letting them dictate what I can or cannot wear," she said. "I want to taunt the hell out of these losers. I wanna wear whatever I want."

Despite receiving advice to opt for subtler accessories, Kardashian maintained her choice. On May 13, she appeared at the Palais de Justice in Paris for the trial, wearing a sleek black blazer and skirt, but her sparkling jewelry drew the attention.

Alongside the 22-carat ring, she wore a $3 million diamond necklace by Samer Halimeh New York, made of 18K white gold, weighing 57 grams, and featuring 80 diamonds totaling 52.17 carats. She also wore an 18K gold Briony Raymond Sloan Pave Diamond Ear Cuff and pieces from Repossi.

Jewelry expert Laura Taylor noted, "This isnt just another public appearance. Its the first time she faced the people who tied her up, held her at gunpoint, and stole millions in jewelry. She knew the cameras would capture everything and made sure she controlled her image."

The robbery occurred during Paris Fashion Week in October 2016 while Kardashian stayed at the No Address Hotel. Five men, disguised as police officers, allegedly tied her up in her room and stole millions in jewelry, including Cartier bracelets, a Jacob necklace, Lorraine Schwartz earrings, a gold Rolex, and other valuables.

Nearly ten years later, after multiple trial delays, Kardashian testified against the suspects. Eight of the ten defendants were ultimately found guilty.

After the trial, Kardashian stated, "The crime was the most terrifying experience of my life, leaving a lasting impact on me and my family. While Ill never forget what happened, I believe in the power of growth and accountability and pray for healing for all. I remain committed to advocating for justice and promoting a fair legal system."
